The School was inspected by the Independent School’s Inspectorate in May 2002 when it was seeking membership of IAPS (Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools). In January 2002, IAPS modified its rules so that membership could be extended to pre-prep schools (3 – 8 years). Hawkesdown House was the first freestanding pre-prep school in the country to be accepted for membership of IAPS. A copy of the inspection report is available from the School, or can be accessed via the ISI website. The Headmistress completed OFSTED training in the spring term of 1996 and in the same year trained for, and became an ISI team member. She is involved in the inspection of independent schools usually twice a year, both in the UK and abroad. The School was inspected in May 2009 and we were delighted with the positive outcomes. The recommendations (all minor!) made by the Inspection team have been addressed in full. |
